- 'The Last of England’ skirt, complete with a scissor motif, takes inspiration from the final scene of Derek Jarman’s 1987 art-house film. It ends with Tilda’s character, The Maid, mourning her executed husband on Dungeness beach. Diamanda Galás sings as The Maid, dressed in a bridal gown, screams and tears at her dress with industrial scissors. The image is breathtaking.
- HADES studio collaborated closely with Swinton at every step of the design and manufacturing process. This process culminated in a collective June visit to the HADES manufacturing factory in Scotland, where Swinton met with the craftspeople who create the knitted jumpers and scarves in this collection.
